The Bill Schenck Spirit of Henley Volunteer Award 2026
This award was established in 2024 to recognize the outstanding service as a champion for community, the sport of rowing & commitment to volunteerism. Named after long serving Henley Commissioner, Bill Schenck’s leadership has made our volunteer community stronger & The Royal Canadian Henley Regatta world class. He is a true champion for the sport of rowing and the Niagara Region. As such, this award will be bestowed upon a deserving individual who embodies the spirit, commitment, vision and support for the betterment of the regatta and the volunteers who commit their time and talents to welcome the world to our island.
Award Criteria:
Volunteer Commitment of 10 years +
Award contender must be nominated by 2 individuals.
Completion of a nomination form by 2 individuals.
We invite and encourage nominations for all including Posthumus award nominees.
Self-nomination is ineligible.
Process:
The Royal Canadian Henley Commission & Awards Committee will review all nominations and through a points review system will tabulate and will present the award to the finalist at the Opening Ceremony.
